Earpiece volume during a call press Up or down key to adjust.

Handsfree Press Talk twice to switch on

Secrecy mute press S during a call, press again to release

Adding to the phonebook Press DIR press Option, "New Entry" is displayed, press OK. Use the keypad to enter the name then SAVE, Enter the phone number then SAVE (include the area code if you want the name to emerge with caller id)

To dial from the phone book, press Dir then scroll to the name you want.

SIM copy Put the sim card into the base. Press Dir, Option, select "Sim Copy", OK, enter the pin if required (of the sim card), OK, OK Scroll to the number/name you want then press Option, "Copy Entry" is shown then OK. You can copy all the numbers by scrolling down to "Copy All" after "Copy Entry" is shown. You can copy numbers from the phone into the sim card as well.

SMS By sending your first sms message you register with the service. To write a message press Menu, OK, OK, Enter the message, OK Enter the number, Press Send.

SMS service centre number. To change press Menu, OK, Scroll to "SMS Settings", OK, OK, enter the name of the centre, Press Save, Enter the new number for the service provider, Save. Repeat for sending centre.

The pre-set numbers are  : Sending; 1470P09110235029 Receiving; 0161 274 5990

Sending from a mobile phone. Send to 0786 20 10 10. Place the number of the home phone line within 2 hashes ie #0121 1234 567# inside the message. full message may be something like "How are you #01343 123 456# joe blogg"

Registering handsets. As these are 'Gap' compatible you can add handsets or use on another base. Press Menu, scroll to "Registration", OK, OK, 1, Enter the pin of the base you are registering to (normally 0000), OK. Hold the page on the base for 20 seconds or do what is required to get the base into register mode.

Reset base pin  Hold page button whilst turning the mains power off. release button then hold again and power up keeping held for 2 minutes (the red light will flash). Reset the handset by holding S for 30 seconds and then selecting Yes. re-register the handset. The pin will now be 0000.
